Read-a-thon

Back for it’s second year, this exciting event combines the joy of reading with the chance to support our school. It’s simple: your child will read books of their choice and seek pledges from family and friends. Not only will this encourage a love for reading, but it will also help raise funds for school supplies, activities, field trips, and many fun surprises for all students!

 FAQs

  • Make a pledge to encourage reading and raise money for Horizon. Our Read-a-thon will be based on students’ reading over two weeks.

  • Parents can start their student’s account by using the QR code and then fill in your student’s name, parent’s email, and select their teacher’s name from the drop down options.

    Parents can also activate a student's account by going here.

    You will then receive an email with a link to your participant's pledge page. Feel free to watch any of the tutorial videos provided on the back of this sheet on how to create a profile, edit your profile, share & make donations, and track your reading minutes.

  • Simply make a donation for whatever you can and share your participant's link with friends and family. There is a tutorial video QR on the back of this sheet.

    FLAT DONATION - Sponsor a student with a flat amount.

    PLEDGE PER MINUTE - Pledge an amount for minutes read.

    Pledge $0.10 per minute, student reads 200 minutes: 200x0.10= $20 pledge

  • Students read and parents can track & log their minutes under “Manage Participant” from the link that was sent to your email. Reading with grown-ups can count for younger participants, it’s all up to you! See the QR codes on the back for a video tutorial.
